Z Bag for Penny

I've got Penny's Z Bag all set - just need to print up the invoice, pack it up, and send it on its way! The bag has been in the works for quite a while; you may remember seeing its "bag guts" on this post. As I said, Penny loved the bright blue camo and asked that I pair it with something "totally nuts and wacky on the inside" and asked me to refrain from anything "red or pink or old lady". Penny also asked for a longer strap, so she could wear it across her body, messenger bag style! With a little - check that - with a lot of help from my Guide Dog for the Color Blind, we came up with what I think is a very cool bag. He previewed it at this link... but here it is, all done!

Had a person been in that dress, the bag wouldn't hang quite as long - really. Here's a close up of the bag itself!

Do you want to look inside? OK. How's this for "totally nuts and wacky" and not "red, pink or old lady"? :)

Two nice, big interior pockets, and as you could see, one on the outside, too. I just thought it looked like it needed one.

In this shot, you can see the top of that exterior pocket, the detail stitching on it (a King Tut blue) and the bag, and the over-sized button. (The button measures an inch and a half in diameter, to give you some perspective!)

The straps are lined with a couple different green batiks. Here's a look:

I also put some green batik at the top of the strap - just to break up the camo a bit. Here's a shot for you:

Let's not forget the Hold the Phone! Bag - in this case, made a tad bit longer to accommodate Penny's iPhone. So let's call it a HTiP! Bag. :)

I attached some very cool blue glass beads, along with a couple green ones, and a pewter bone-shaped charm that reads "Bad to the Bone". It just seemed right.

Here's the inside!

Penny, your Z Bag was a blast to make. I hope you enjoy carrying it as much as I enjoyed making it! It will be winging its merry way to Merryland early this coming week.

Thanks for reading!
